To prevent smell, one can use garlic extract, tablets, not cook it, since cooking removes most benefits. Garlic has 4 times less sugars than onion per 100 grams and 6 times more protein than onion. Garlic protein is much higher quality protein, aminoacid score 84, milk is 85, lentils 86 - versus useless 22 score for onion (22 is lower than all common fruits and veggies). :)
