Offshore wind can produce 4 times the electricity America uses today. The U.S. is way behind Northern Europe which has 90% of the offshore wind Turbines existing on this planet. The total Offshore Wind Potential of America is over 4000 GW. (Atlantic 1256 GW, Great lakes 734 GW, Pacific 930 GW, Hawaii 634 GW, Gulf 594 GW) :) Imagine: offshore wind alone can generate 4 times more electricity than America needs and that's true for other nations as well.
