THE MAN HAS A GOOD PLAN!

Protecting the environment

“As an Environment Minister, I cut greenhouse gas emissions each and every year. As Prime Minister, I’ll tackle climate change and protect the environment for future generations.”
Canadians know we don’t have to choose between a strong economy and a clean environment — that’s a false choice.
For ten years, Stephen Harper has gutted laws designed to protect the outdoors. And he’s hurt Canada’s reputation on the world stage by refusing to take serious action to tackle climate change.
Tom Mulcair has a concrete plan to protect the environment for future generations while growing the economy and creating good jobs.
As Prime Minister, Tom will work to kickstart renewable energy production and drive down climate-changing emissions. He’ll make big polluters pay to clean up their mess. And he’ll strengthen laws to protect Canada’s lakes and rivers.

Building strong citiesand communities

“Our cities and communities are where we work, start businesses, and raise our families. As Prime Minister, I will work tirelessly to strengthen them.”
Middle-class families thrive when the communities they live in are strong.
After 10 years of Stephen Harper, municipalities have no reliable partner in Ottawa. That failure has led to crumbling infrastructure, gridlock costing billions in lost productivity, overcrowded transit, and an affordable housing crisis.
Tom Mulcair has a concrete plan to strengthen the middle class and help families get ahead by strengthening the cities and communities they live in.
As Prime Minister, Tom will help communities fix roads and bridges by transferring an extra cent of the existing gas tax to municipalities. And he’ll shorten commute times by partnering with cities on a Better Transit Plan — creating 31,000 good jobs in the process.

( A message from Joseph Raglione)

Years ago I suggested creating smaller and faster Electric buses for public transportation. The plan was simple, Once a small bus was full of passengers, it was replaced within ten minutes by an empty small bus and then it headed to the end of the line stopping only to allow passengers off the bus. The system would be computer regulated and it remains a good idea, however, the plan was ignored by the Bus company of Montreal. They kept their large polluting machines and worse they experimented with longer buses! Today in our over crowded cities, a large Bus is slow and inefficient! With smaller Buses, every bus stop would have a Bus parked nearby ready to pick up where the last small Bus left off.

Securing your retirement

“If you work hard and play by the rules your whole life, you should be able to expect a stable income in retirement — and you deserve a Prime Minister who understands that.”
After a lifetime of hard work, every Canadian deserves to retire with dignity and financial security.
After a decade of Stephen Harper, 7 out of 10 working Canadians don’t have a pension. Instead of working to fix it, Conservatives have raised the retirement age from 65 to 67 and refused to boost Canada’s rock-solid public pension system, the CPP.
Tom Mulcair has a concrete plan to strengthen the middle class and help families get ahead by ensuring seniors get the benefits they’ve earned.
As Prime Minister, Tom will cancel the Conservative decision to raise the retirement age — bringing it back down to 65. And he’ll work tirelessly to strengthen public pensions while protecting workplace pensions.

Improving public health care

“It was New Democrats who brought publicly funded health care to Canada. You can trust an NDP government to protect and strengthen medicare.”
In Canada, we’re proud that you only need a health card — not a credit card — to see a doctor or receive care at a hospital. It’s part of who we are.
After a decade of Stephen Harper’s neglect, five million Canadians don’t have a family doctor. Instead of investing in the front-line medical services we rely on, Conservatives imposed billions in unilateral cuts to our healthcare system.
Tom Mulcair has a concrete plan to help families get ahead by ensuring better access to medical care for you and your family.
As Prime Minister, Tom will stop unilateral Conservative cuts to health and get back to working collaboratively with provinces and territories to improve primary care and expand access to long-term and primary care.
