Cancer Fighting Poetry.
Short Teaching Poem (as you enjoy)
Cells build walls of protein and code,
Whispering “don’t see me” along the road.
They silence the flags that T cells scan,
They block the death switch, outlast the plan.
But each shield they raise has a seam in sight—
Target the hub, and restore the fight.
Closing Teaching Poem
When B2M falls and HLA fades,
The CD8 sword no longer raids.
Yet missing self becomes a sign,
For NK cells to realign.
What T cells lose, innate can see —
A different path to victory.
Teaching poem (research version)
Not mutagens, yet not benign,
They prime the soil where tumors climb,
Through leaky gates and cytokine rain,
They help inflammation drive the train.
This is the key clinical message
For GI oncology, microplastics belong in the same conceptual category as:
diet quality,
chronic inflammation,
microbiome health,
barrier integrity.
They are risk amplifiers, not root causes —
but in CRC, amplifiers matter a lot.
